Dr. Chet Bhatta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Radford University, Virginia, USA. His research covers insect ecology, pollinator and bee biology, apiculture and conservation biology, focusing on native honeybees and stingless bees, especially in South Asia. His research combines taxonomy, behavioral ecology, plant‑pollinator relationships and human‑related dimensions of bee conservation. He has widely published in leading international peer‑reviewed journals, covering stingless‑bee biology, honeybee distribution and native pollinator conservation. He has carried out field research across the United States, Canada, Brazil, Nepal, India and Bhutan, and supervises student research on bees and insect biodiversity at Radford University. At AAA 2026 in Fuzhou, Dr. Bhatta will deliver a presentation titled *The Double Shift: Nocturnal Nest Closure and Nesting Ecology of the Stingless Bee Lisotrigona (Hymenoptera: Apidae: Meliponini) in the Western Ghats, India*. This work explores the behavioral and nesting biology of stingless bees to support tropical pollinator conservation.
