New Year Address by the President of the Asian Apicultural Association
Dear colleagues and friends:
As 2025 draws to a close and we stand on the threshold of 2026, on behalf of the Asian Apicultural Association (AAA), I extend my most sincere greetings and warmest New Year wishes to all our members, partners, and every diligent beekeeper, practitioners across the entire apicultural industry chain, researchers, and industry stakeholders in China and throughout the Asian region!
Over the past year, we have collectively witnessed the resilience and progress of Asia’s apicultural sector. Substantial achievements have been made in addressing global climate change, advancing sustainable apicultural practices, safeguarding bee health and preventing pests and diseases, enhancing the quality of bee products and expanding market reach, promoting bee pollination, and popularizing apicultural science. Cooperation among member states has grown increasingly robust, with information sharing and technical exchanges infusing invaluable vitality into the industry’s development across the region.
As the world's largest beekeeping and bee product industry state and consumer market, Asia is endowed with a profound apicultural heritage and abundant industry resources. We must not only preserve this precious natural and cultural legacy but also drive its innovative advancement. In the new year, let us adhere to the tenets of “Collaboration, Innovation, and Sustainability” to strengthen research and cooperation on bee health, jointly combat pest and disease threats, and ensure the prosperity and welfare of bee colonies; actively promote standardized apicultural practices, encourage innovative initiatives within the industry, and strive to elevate production efficiency and product quality; thoroughly explore the health benefits of bee products, advance quality improvement and brand building, advocate for premium pricing for premium quality, and consolidate consumer trust; facilitate the integrated development of apiculture with the big health and cultural tourism industries, strengthen apicultural science popularization, foster intergenerational inheritance of the industry, and promote the sustainable development of apiculture.
The 18th Asian Apiculture Association Conference & Bee Industry Expo will be hosted in Fuzhou, China from October 15 to 18, 2026(website: http://en.aaa.cccfna.org.cn). Let us fully leverage this premier industry event and exchange platform to further deepen cooperation, share opportunities, and jointly address challenges, so that the hum of bees may continue to bring abundance to Asia’s farmlands and sweetness and health to people’s lives.
In closing, I sincerely wish you all a happy New Year, a harmonious family, flourishing careers, and a thriving apicultural industry!
Siriwat Wongsiri
